Australia’s first National Skin Check Day

Pablo Fernandez-Peñas was interviewed by ABC Radio about skin cancer and skin checks.

Skin cancer is the most frequent cancer in humans and Australia is the leading country in the world. Only with prevention and regular self-skin checks, we will be able to reduce the burden of skin cancer.

Our group is working in innovative non-invasive diagnostic methods for basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma, the most common skin cancers. The combination of scarless biopsies and advance imaging will help us to remove the right lesion at the right time.

But before we apply our methods, we need you to perform a first step: check your skin.
