This year, the Australian and New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry Conference (ANZSMS26) was held in Adelaide, South Australia from, Sunday 16 to Thursday 20 July 2017. ANZSMS26 is the premier conference for mass spectrometry in the Australia & New Zealand region with an aim to provide a forum for the presentation of research in mass spectrometry and its related disciplines, and develop networks between local and international leaders in all areas, from academia to industry. Researchers from across Australia and New Zealand had participated in this conference and they presented their researches in the area of proteomics, metabolomics as well as recent advances in mass spectrometry instrumentation and methods.
At this conference, I presented a scientific poster titled “Tape stripped stratum corneum samples prove to be suitable for comprehensive proteomic investigation of actinic keratosis”. The poster described an efficient and non-invasive method of Tape Stripping (TS) for the collection and extraction of proteins from the stratum corneum of patients with actinic keratosis and its use for subsequent diagnostic biomarker analysis using proteomic techniques.
Attending this conference was a great opportunity to connect with new people in the field of mass spectrometry and learn new insights
